Those of us who have been born again have His Spirit within us and the Spirit
must STILL carry out God's will. Are we allowing it to be so? Or are we still
losing our footing when we face trials? Have we forgotten that nothing we must
face has taken the Father by surprise and that in His sovereignty He will make
ALL things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called
according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)?
Our enemy knows the Scriptures, but he's not very clever. Pride is still
at work within him. Pride was his fall and he acts as if God isn't sovereign, as
if God will allow evil without something good coming out of it. Some of the most
tragic events in the world have paved the way for life changing ministries,
salvations, and many great acts. The devil is his own enemy. Yes, he acts as if
God is not sovereign, knowing that He is. Problem is, too often, so do we.
What's wrong with us believers? Are we too full of ourselves to still be in awe
of the great price that was paid for our redemption? I'm guilty of it. God is
aware of our weaknesses as human beings, but we do have a part to play, a choice
to make. Will we allow the devil to pull the strings and manipulate us through
circumstances and feelings? Surely, God is more real than these! OR will we take
a stand and firmly hold on to the Anchor that is Christ, so that when the winds
blow and the storms rage, we will be at peace and say, "I'm not going anywhere,
God. My Anchor is secure."
We are called to make disciples, to preach the Gospel, not just when the
weather is right and the sails are peacefully blown about, but also wherever we
are blown to by any storm allowed into our lives. We are to be ready, at all
times, to share the Good News.
Jesus. He is the Anchor. He is in control. He is unshakeable. He is with you
and with me. If we are not in awe of Him, we just don't
understand His greatness...
