I'm used to sleeping less than the recommended 6 hour minimum each night, but especially before an event, I sleep even less. "All nighters" are common the week leading to an event, but you know what? I love it! I love the anticipation and I love the quiet moments I stop production to go be alone with God. In the business of planning and working, it's so easy to get caught up working FOR God that we can put off our time with Him and possibly end up working without Him. I quickly learned that was no way to work. If God is not in it, it's not going to happen and I need His Spirit working because I sure don't make anything happen.
There's still a lot to do, but I have a few friends coming over to help me set up tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous. I'm humbled and thankful. Numbers don't matter, but I do hope the boys that come will walk away with a beautiful new revelation of who God is and who they are in Him. May God's will be done. Come what may, this is part of the process. Unfortunately, not everyone is excited to go somewhere to learn about God. The hard part is getting them there. Once they're there, they love it and can't wait to go again.
I made dinner for my volunteers tonight. We worked, laughed (at each other), and ate. I am extremely grateful for everyone that has the heart to help. We can make such a difference in our own communities by teaming up!
Something always goes wrong, of course; the lady that I'm renting the chairs from didn't bring them (freaking out just a tiny bit) and I'm not sure what I'll do since a lot of rental places don't rent out just chairs. It's not worth the trip for them. It'll be fine! Somehow! Ha ha! Pictures will be posted as soon as possible. Most likely by Monday. Please pray for the children and parents that hang around and hear the message! To God be the glory, now and forever!
