reminded me of when I used to water plants for my mother. I used to make sure
the leaves and the flowers would get plenty of water. Didn't think much about
the roots because I couldn't see them.
Now that I'm older and walking with the Lord, I see the importance of
nourishing the roots that sustain us. How often do we make sure the outer
appearance is presentable and comfortable while we continue to neglect what
I have gone through depression in the past, but I learned how to wear a mask
in the midst of my despair. My leaves were made fresh and comfortable, while my
roots were drying up. Sad thing is that what we need the most is what we neglect
the most when we are so desperate for breakthrough.
Let's make it a point to focus on growing our roots deep down in God. In
doing so, our whole appearance will reflect that healthy nourishment we're
receiving and we'll be of better use in the Kingdom of God! Read the Word,
submit, and keep going. It's not about us, but all for His glory!
